Connecting to the Internet for the first time

If you are reading this article, you are likely just moving in, or Elauwit Networks is new to your community. Great news! Your high speed internet service is already active in your apartment. Simply follow the instructions below and you will be online in no time.

Getting connected to our fast, high speed internet is no different than any other time you've tried to connect. Simply follow the steps below.

Connect using WiFi on a laptop or mobile device

  1. First, find your property's wireless network name, otherwise known as an SSID. You may see several different versions. For example Propertyname and Propertyname(802.1x). If you don't yet have an account, you won't be able to connect to the 802.1x network, so you will need to connect to the open Propertyname network. If you see numbered versions such as Propertyname1, Propertyname4 and Propertyname7, connect to the one with the strongest signal.
  2. After connecting, launch a browser, such as Google Chrome. You should be automatically redirected to a registration page, but if you are not, navigate to a website you've never visited before, like http://purple.com
    1. If you've connected successfully, one of two things will occur. You'll either see a purple page OR you'll be redirected to a page where you'll enter your email address. 
    2. If you don't see either the purple page or the registration page, contact support for further assistance.
  3. Enter your email address and follow the instructions on the screen to continue getting your device online.

Connect using an Ethernet cord on your laptop or desktop computer

  1. First, connect the ethernet cord to your computer and then to the Ethernet jack in the wall.
  2. After connecting, launch a browser, such as Google Chrome, You should be automatically redirected to a registration page, but if you are not, navigate to a website you've never visited before, like http://purple.com
    1. If you've connected successfully, one of two things will occur. You'll either see a purple page OR you'll be redirected to a page where you'll enter your email address. 
    2. If you don't see either the purple page or the registration page, contact support for further assistance.
  3. Enter your email address and follow the instructions on the screen to register this device and begin browsing. 

Other helpful information

All devices must be registered before they will be able to access the internet connection in your community. Connect an additional device by launching a browser* from that device. Log in using your account credentials and follow the on-screen instructions.
