Connecting to the internet using an ethernet cable

Your apartment has an ethernet port located on the wall in your unit. To connect to the internet using this port, you’ll need to use your computer’s “NIC” (network interface card) and an ethernet cable. Depending on your computer, the NIC is commonly found on the side of a laptop or on the back of a desktop. If you’re not sure about where your NIC is located, view our "How to locate your Network Interface Card".

Simply plug your ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the wall, and plug the other end into your computer's NIC.
